When it comes to modern street lighting infrastructure, the octagonal pole has emerged as the gold standard for engineers, urban planners, and government bodies across India. At Kasper Engineering Private Limited, we have been manufacturing and supplying premium-grade octagonal poles since 2013, delivering strength, precision, and longevity to projects ranging from city highways to metro infrastructure.
What Is an Octagonal Pole?
An octagonal pole is a lighting or utility pole with an eight-sided (octagonal) cross-section. Unlike conventional round or square poles, the octagonal shape distributes mechanical stress more evenly across all faces. This geometric advantage makes the pole significantly more resistant to bending, vibration, and wind loads — a critical quality for outdoor installations exposed to harsh Indian weather conditions year-round.
These poles are widely used for street lighting, traffic signals, central verge lighting, garden and park illumination, solar panel mounting, CCTV camera support, and industrial area lighting.
Height Range — 3 to 13 Meters
Kasper Engineering manufactures octagonal poles in heights ranging from 3 metres to 13 metres, catering to a diverse range of applications:
3–5 Metre: Ideal for gardens, parks, residential streets, and pedestrian pathways.
6–9 Metre: Commonly used for urban roads, highways, factory yards, petrol pumps, and over-bridges.
10–13 Metre: Suitable for wide industrial compounds, warehouses, and city beautification projects.
Each height variant is engineered with optimised sheet thickness, correct base plate sizing, and accurate foundation bolt arrangements to ensure maximum load-bearing capacity and structural stability throughout its service life.

Foundation Bolt Details & Drawing
The foundation system is a critical component of any pole installation. Our octagonal poles are anchored using high-tensile foundation bolts of 600 mm length and 16 mm diameter, manufactured from IS 2062 Grade E250A steel. The base plate (200 mm × 200 mm × 12 mm) sits on a PCD 200 arrangement, ensuring firm and level mounting on the concrete foundation.
The locking arrangement employs close-fitting bolts with Allen key bolts, which prevent tampering and ensure the pole remains secure against vibration and wind uplift. The access door at the base (500 mm opening) allows easy entry for electrical wiring and maintenance. Foundation drawings and detailed engineering layouts are available on request for project-specific requirements.
Hot-Dip Galvanisation — 65 Micron Protection
One of the most important quality parameters of our poles is the 65-micron hot-dip galvanised coating, applied as per IS 4759 and IS 2629 standards. This thick zinc layer creates a metallurgical bond with the steel surface, offering superior protection against corrosion, rust, and environmental degradation — even in coastal regions, high-humidity zones, and areas with extreme temperature variation.
This treatment significantly extends the operational lifespan of the pole, reducing the frequency and cost of maintenance over the years.
Key Advantages of Kasper Octagonal Poles
Superior Wind Load Resistance: The eight-sided geometry disperses wind pressure more efficiently than circular or square poles.
High Structural Strength: 3 mm thick IS 2062 E250A mild steel construction provides excellent load-bearing capacity.
Corrosion Resistance: 65-micron galvanisation ensures long life even in challenging outdoor environments.
Aesthetic Appeal: The octagonal profile gives a clean, modern appearance suitable for urban and city beautification projects.
Customisable: Available in single and double arm bracket configurations, multiple heights, and custom colours.
Low Maintenance: Robust material and finish combination minimises maintenance requirements over the lifecycle.
BIS & IS Standard Compliance: All materials and processes conform to applicable Indian Standards.
